Japan Airlines has entered into a new partnership with Alaska Airlines that will offer passengers a series of new connections in North America.
The new codeshare agreement will enable passengers travelling on JAL’s flights from Tokyo to Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Vancouver, and from Osaka to Los Angeles, to connect to multiple US destinations with Alaska Airlines.
These include Seattle, Portland, Palm Springs, Fresno, Monterey, Santa Rosa, Boise and Salt Lake City, plus the Mexican resort city of Los Cabos.
The combined services will launch on 29 June, pending government approval, and passengers will also be able to earn frequent flyer points on all the codeshare routes.
“We are pleased to offer our customers more routes and destinations with our new partnership with Alaska Airlines,” said Hideki Oshima, JAL’s executive officer for international relations & alliances. “The new cooperation also allows JAL to strengthen its own presence throughout the Pacific Northwest and will provide additional mileage earning and redemption opportunities for our customers.”
JAL operates a fleet of Boeing 777-300ERs and B787-8 Dreamliners on its flights between Japan and North America.
