Japan Airlines has added more destinations in Thailand and Indochina following the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways.
The two carriers currently codeshare on flights from Bangkok to five destinations: Phuket, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Mumbai and Male. But from 7 May 2014, the arrangement will be expanded to more domestic and regional cities, including Chiang Rai, Yangon, Naypyidaw, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
All routes are operated by Bangkok Airways from the Thai capital’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, with JAL placing its ‘JL’ code on the flights.
In return, the Thai carrier will place its ‘PG’ code on JAL’s flights to Bangkok from Tokyo Haneda and Osaka.
