Jet adds European links from Chennai, Bengaluru

Jet Airways will start flying direct from Chennai and Bengaluru to Europe later this year, with the launch of two new long-haul routes.
Commencing 29 October 2017, the Indian carrier will operate direct daily flights between Bengaluru and Amsterdam, and five weekly non-stop services between Chennai and Paris. These new flights will complement the airline’s existing direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Amsterdam, and from Mumbai to Paris.
Jet will deploy an Airbus A330 aircraft on both new routes.
“Providing guests with a greater choice of travel destinations and connectivity options is an important differentiating factor which sets us apart from our competition,” said Gaurang Shetty, Jet’s whole-time director. “Demand for enhanced connectivity to global destinations is on the rise from South India and increasingly from corporate travellers. We are sure our guests will welcome the introduction of these new flights.”
On the Bengaluru-Amsterdam route, flights will depart the Indian city at 0225 and arrive at Schiphol Airport at 0835. The return flights will then leave Amsterdam at 1050 and arrive back in Bengaluru at 0040 the next morning. KLM and Delta Air Lines will both codeshare on the flights.
The Chennai-Paris flights will leave the Tamil Nadu city at 0145 and touch down at Charles de Gaulle Airport at 0810. The return flights then leave Paris at 1010 and return to Chennai at 0015. Air France and Delta will be codeshare partners on these flights.
Passengers will be offered multiple onward connections from both Amsterdam and Paris with Jet’s codeshare partners, including 35 destinations across Europe and 24 in North America. Those travelling to India can connect to 14 destinations via Chennai and Bengaluru, including the Sri Lankan capital Colombo.
