Jet Airways will now offer passengers more trans-Atlantic connections thanks to an expanded codeshare partnership with Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic.

Effective 2 November, Jet passengers flying between India and North America will be able to connect at London Heathrow to nine US destinations: Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle. All of these routes are operated by Delta.

In return, Delta and Virgin Atlantic passengers will be able to connect to Mumbai and Delhi via Heathrow, onwards to 20 destinations within India. The new codeshare destinations include Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Kozhikode, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadodara.

These new routes complement Delta and Jet’s existing trans-Atlantic codeshare partnerships via Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports.

“With up to 11,000 people flying daily between India and North America, and with trade and tourism flows increasing between the US, UK and India, we are giving our customers more versatile schedule options between North America and India,” said Nat Pieper, Delta’s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East, Africa & India.

“For the first time, customers will be able to hold a single Delta ticket from North America through London to India providing coordinated customer service all the way through to their final destinations.”

In 2017, Virgin Atlantic is planning to expand its existing codeshare with Jet by allowing the Indian carrier to place its flight code on Virgin Atlantic-operated flights from Heathrow to 10 cities across North America, including Miami, Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC.

Virgin Atlantic and Jet already codeshare on flights between five Indian cities and London Heathrow via Delhi.
