Jet Airways has introduced two new direct flights to Qatar.

This week, the Indian carrier launched new routes from Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode to Doha. Both will operate three days a week until 31 May 2015 before rising to daily services.

“We are happy to announce the introduction of two new additional flights from Kerala to the state of Qatar,” said Raj Sivakumar, Jet’s chief commercial officer.

“Jet Airways has established itself as a preferred airline on the Indo-Gulf sector and our new flights to Qatar further reinforce our presence on this busy route. India has strong economic and cultural ties with the region and it is our endeavour to enhance connectivity between India and the Arabian Gulf for the benefit of its people.”

In the first phase of the launch, Jet’s Thiruvananthapuram-Doha route will operate every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, while the Kozhikode-Doha service will run every Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Both routes will be operated using a two-class, 168-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

With the launch of these two new routes, Jet now connects Doha with five cities in India, including Mumbai, Delhi and Kochi.
