Jet Airways will relocate its domestic operations in Mumbai to the new Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on 15 March 2016.
The migration to the new terminal will lead to the integration of domestic and international flight operations in one terminal, aimed at providing a smoother transfer experience.
Passengers will now be able to transfer from domestic to international flights within 75 minutes compared to 105 minutes currently, while international to domestic transfers will take just 90 minutes compared to two hours currently.
Jet Airways operates more than 135 daily domestic and international flights out of Mumbai. Flight 9W484 to Kolkata will be the first Jet domestic flight to operate from T2 on 15 March.
“The integration of domestic and international operations at Mumbai’s Terminal 2 will enable Jet Airways to transform Mumbai into a critical international transit hub,” said Gaurang Shetty, the airline’s senior vice president of commercial.
Spread across more than 400,000m2, the new T2 has 60 check-in desks and 80 immigration counters and is capable of handling 40 million passengers annually.
