Jetstar will expand its operations in Bali next year, with the launch of a new direct service to the island from Cairns.
Commencing on 31 March 2015, the Australian low-cost carrier will operate three weekly flights on the Cairns-Bali route, every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
“We’re always looking to open up new travel opportunities for our customers and I’m delighted that we’re the first low fares carrier to offer direct flights from Cairns to Bali,” said Jetstar’s CEO for Australia & New Zealand, David Hall.
“Bali is one of Australia’s favourite overseas holiday destinations and I’m sure our direct low fares flights will appeal to families and groups of friends looking for a relaxing beach getaway.”
Cairns-Bali is one of three new routes being launched by Jetstar next March, along with a brand new service linking Melbourne with Wellington, and the resumption of flights between the Gold Coast and Perth.
“I’m really pleased that we’re bringing low fares to the Melbourne-Wellington route for the first time,” Mr Hall added. “I have no doubt our flights will help stimulate growth for both tourism markets as we entice new travellers to take up the opportunity of a short break across the Tasman.”
The new three new routes will add up to 4,500 extra weekly seats to Jetstar’s network.
