Jordan is aiming to tap into the lucrative Indian conference and events market.
The Middle Eastern country’s tourism board recently organised a series of ‘MICE Evenings’ in Delhi and Mumbai to showcase Jordan as a MICE destination.
The Jordan Tourism Board’s MICE Evening in Delhi was held at the Leela Gurgaon while the Mumbai event was hosted at the city’s Grand Hyatt Hotel.
These events, which were both held in association with Yatra, allowed senior management, staff and other guests from Indian outbound agencies and MICE bookers to learn more about Jordan’s MICE offerings. This included updates on air connectivity, visa requirements, hotels, convention centres, food and attractions.
The two evening events both kicked off with a welcome address, followed by a presentation by Ashit Taneja, Indian country manager for the Jordan Tourism Board. The evenings also featured cultural dance performances by international artists.
And two lucky attendees also won all-expenses-paid trips to Jordan as part of a lucky draw.
Jordan is prioritising the MICE sector as part of a broader five-year (2014–2019) plan to boost its tourism industry.
