Korea is gearing up to host ‘Expo 2012 Yeosu – The Living Ocean & Coast’ from 12 May to 12 August next year. More than one hundred countries will participate at the event, which is expected to draw eight million visitors.
Expo 2012 Yeosu is an international event aimed at providing a vision for building a green economy that keeps the ocean healthy through clean technologies. A range of activities are planned, including more than 40 performances and events taking place every day for the 93-day period. Some of the larger events planned include the Big-O, a nightly light and laser show, and the Fountain Show which takes place on a stage constructed on the sea.
The Expo site will also include an open-air gallery housing artworks and architectural designs offering a glimpse of a high-tech seafront city in the year 2050. The Ocean Experience Park and a Marine Life Pavilion will display life in the five major oceans of the world.
