Korean Air will launch direct flights to Rome and Milan this month.
From on 25 February 2015, the current Seoul-Milan-Rome-Seoul route will be changed to operate direct to both cities. The carrier will offer three weekly flights on each route, with the Milan route rising to four flights per week in March.
The Rome service will see Korean Air’s flights leave Seoul’s Incheon International Airport every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1610, arriving in Rome at 2040. The return flight will depart Rome on the same days at 2220, arriving back in Seoul at 1720 the next day.
This route will initially operate using a 291-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, but from 29 March the capacity will rise to 363 passengers, with the deployment of a Boeing 747-400 aircraft on the route. The timetable will also change to Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday departures from Incheon.
Korean Air’s new direct Milan service will initially operate three times a week using a 218-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Flights will depart Seoul every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1345 and arrive in Milan at 1825 the same day. The return flight will then leave on the same days at 2030, arriving back in Seoul at 1550 the following day.
Then on 29 March, Korean Air will add a new Monday service on the Milan route, as well as deploying a larger 248-seat B777-200ER aircraft on the route.
