Korean Air has formed a new partnership with Jet Airways that give it more connections to and from India.
Effective 1 March 2016, a codeshare agreement will see Korean Air partner Jet on the Indian carrier’s services between Mumbai and Delhi and Bangkok, and between Mumbai and Singapore.
The move will give Korean Air its first daily connection to Delhi, which passengers will be able to access via Korean’s own Seoul-Bangkok flights. The Mumbai connections will operate alongside Korean Air’s own thrice-weekly Seoul-Mumbai service.
The two airlines added that the codeshare routes “are expected to be expanded even more by the end of this year”.
Passengers will also be able to earn frequent flyer miles, not only on the codeshare services, but across the entire network of both airlines. Under a new reciprocal partnership, members of both Korean Air’s SkyPass and Jet’s JetPrivilege programmes will be able to earn and redeem miles on any flights operated by the two carriers.
Jet recently announced plans to add a two more daily services to Bangkok – one from Mumbai and one from Delhi.
