Langham Hospitality Group has signed a new hotel in eastern China’s Zhejiang province.

Located in the city of Hainang, the new Langham Place property will form part of an integrated complex comprising a shopping centre, offices and residential apartments.

“We are delighted to introduce the Langham Place brand to the rapidly growing city of Haining. Together with the developer Mingly Corporation, we will create a luxury hotel that will be the centerpiece of this exciting new urban development,” said Langham’s CEO, Brett Butcher.

Scheduled to open in 2014, the new Langham Place Hainang will feature 266 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a bar, spa, indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and a top floor venue for private functions.

It will also include two ballrooms – one 900m² and another 300m² – plus eight function rooms ranging from 45-100m². There will also be a 3,000m² ceremonial hall set in a private landscaped park.

“With three new Langham Place hotels set to open in Ningbo, Guangzhou and Xiamen this year, China is definitely one of the primary regions of expansion for the brand,” said Lo Young, Langham’s regional vice president for China, Taiwan & Macau. “Our new hotel in Haining will be a welcome addition to its sister hotels in Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai, and we look forward to playing an important role in the city’s future.”

Set on the Qiantang River in China’s Yangtze Delta region, Haining is a 90-minute drive to Shanghai and one hour away from Hangzhou.
