The Tourism Action Council of Langkawi in Malaysia is seeking the green light for its tourism projects from the new government which has been sworn in.

Langkawi is part of Kedah state which last week came under the opposition’s rule after  decades of being under the ruling party, Bernama reported.

Among the programmes that are being presented to the State Tourism Committee is Langkawi Water Festival from April 3 to 5.

“The water festival has been held since 2002 and become a main event in the Kedah tourism calender. It is also part of the Visit Kedah Year activities,” a council official was quoted saying by Bernama.
