RAVNEET KAUR has become the new chair and managing director of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), becoming the first women to hold the role. In a 29-year career, Ms Kaur has held senior positions with companies including Punjab Communications and Exim Bank.
GLORIA GUEVARA MANZO has been named as the new president & CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). A Mexican national, Ms Guevara served as Secretary of Tourism for Mexico and CEO of the Mexican Tourism Board from 2010 to 2012. She has also been CEO of Sabre Mexico.
CLINTON ANDERSON has been appointed president of Sabre Hospitality Solutions, effective 7 August, succeeding Alex Alt. Anderson joined Sabre in 2014 and currently serves as senior vice president of strategy. Prior to this he co-founded Emerson/Anderson, a private investment fund.
PRATEEK KUMAR has been named as Dusit International’s new regional vice president for Europe, the Middle East & Africa. Kumar is no stranger to Dusit, having previously worked as the Thai hotel group’s area general manager for Dubai. He has also worked for Raffles and Starwood.
DAVID CUMMING has been named as Onyx Hospitality Group’s new regional vice president of operations for Bangkok, Malaysia & Laos. The move marks a promotion for Cumming, who previously served as Onyx’s vice president and area general manager for Bangkok.
MARVIN ALBALLI has been recruited as InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) new director of restaurants & bars for India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA). Alballi has spent over a decade working in the Middle East, including senior F&B industry roles in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE.
MICHEL CHECOURY has been named as Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ new chief financial officer. He brings more than 30 years of financial experience to the role, having worked with some of the world’s biggest hotel groups including Mandarin Oriental, IHG, Starwood and Jumeirah Group.
PIERRE-ANDRE PELLETIER has become Onyx Hospitality Group’s regional vice president of operations for South Thailand, Vietnam and the Maldives. A Swiss national, Pelletier joined the company in 1993 and has served as GM of Amari hotels in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket.
ANGELA SCIACCA has been promoted to the role of project manager for the Asia Pacific Incentives & Meeting Expo (AIME), and will be responsible for the delivery of the 2018 show. Ms Sciacca has been operations manager for AIME since 2004. Next year’s event takes place in Melbourne in February.
BRAFELY SAHELANGI has become the general manager of Aviary Bintaro hotel in Jakarta. An experienced hotelier with more than 20 years’ experience, Brafely has worked for several Indonesian hotels, including Best Western properties in Semarang, Jakarta and Batam.
FEDERICA BRUGNARA has been appointed director of sales & marketing of the soon-to-open Andaz Singapore. An Italian national, Ms Brugnara brings more than eight years of experience to the role, including spells with Park Hyatt Saigon, Park Hyatt Beijing and Park Hyatt Dubai.
WENDY HO has been announced as the new director of sales at the Dorsett Singapore. Ms Ho moves to the hotel from another Singapore property, Parkroyal on Beach Road, where she held a similar position for the past three years. She has 15 years of industry experience.
DEVEEKAA NIJHAWAN has been appointed director of PR & communications for Niyama Private Islands, Maldives. An experienced PR executive, she joins the resort from Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre. She has previously lived in India, Sri Lanka, UK and the Middle East.
