PIETER VAN DER HOEVEN has become Minor Hotels’ new area general manager for Vietnam. Based at the Anantara Hoi An, he will now oversee the operations and sales of all Minor hotel brands in Vietnam. Van der Hoeven joins from Outrigger Resorts, where he had worked since 2008.
ANDREW NOCELLA has taken on the expanded role of executive vice president and chief commercial officer at United Airlines. In addition to overseeing the airline’s network, commercial and pricing and revenue management strategy, Nocella will now have responsibility for marketing and MileagePlus.
AXEL BENCH has been announced as Sabre Airline Solutions’ new regional director for Asia. He joins the travel technology company with more than 25 years of experience, most recently as global sales director for the Harris Aviation Solutions. He previously worked for Sabre between 2005 and 2007.
ELIAS PERTOFT has been named managing director of the new Rosewood Luang Prabang, which is scheduled to open in late 2017. He brings 13 years’ experience in Asia and Central America to the role. Prior to joining Rosewood, Pertoft was GM of the Maikhao Dream Villa Resort & Spa in Thailand
ASHUTOSH DOGRA has been appointed general manager of FIT Ruums India, Webjet’s new B2B travel brand. A seasoned travel industry professional with almost 18 years of experience, Dogra previously worked for Vacation Exotica and spent many years with Kuoni. He will be based in Delhi.
GRANT CLAYTON has been appointed as Sabre Airline Solutions’ new senior account director for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia & Brunei. An experienced account director, Clayton has been with Sabre for 4.5 years. Prior to this he spent 12 years with Virgin Australia.
FERNANDO GIBAJA has been appointed general manager of the Capella Singapore. He moves to the luxury hotel from the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel & Spa, which is located on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah. Prior to this he held senior positions with Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton.
