Amanda Leggett has joined Getabed.co.uk’s sales team to focus on travel agents in the north of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Leggett will work with sales director Mark Hopper and is previously business development manager at If Only.
Michelle Hislop has been appointed operations manager at Park Plaza Riverbank and Plaza on the River. Hislop has joined the team from its sister property, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, where she headed front of house.
David Warren has been named regional sales director UK for Your Hotel Worldwide. With more than 20 years of experience in management systems, Warren has previously held roles at Edwardian, De Vere and Hilton Hotels.
Marshall Calder has been appointed managing director, the Americas at Great Hotels of the World as it opens its office in the USA. Calder is the former SVP of marketing and brand management at The Leading Hotels and will also be joined by Nicole Lingos Spillane with GHOTW as senior director of brand marketing.
Reto Wittwer has become chairman of the advisory board at the World Tourism Forum Lucerne. Wittwer is president and CEO of Kempinski Hotels and will chair the next forum next year when it is held between 17-19 April.
Leslie Peraira has been named general manager at Hotel Fort Canning. A Malaysian national, Peraira first worked with Shangri-La in 1992 and has also held roles at the Metroplex Group, Star Cruise International and Killarney Towers Hotel, Kerry.
Captain Ali Hassan Sulaiman has been appointed acting chief officer flight operations for Oman Air. Sulaiman takes over the role from Captain Patrick Rotsaert who has retired. Sulaiman has more than 30 years’ experience in flying.
