Two major destination management companies have formed a strategic alliance in Japan.
JTB Global Marketing & Travel and Pacific World have agreed to join forces to offer integrated DMC services in the country, focusing on the meetings and events sector. The alliance is effective immediately.
“Japan is known as an inspiring traditional destination, but the country is recently being rediscovered by corporates and associations based in the Americas and Europe as a key strategic destination for conferences and events in the Asia Pacific region,” said Herve Joseph-Antoine, global managing director of Pacific World.
“We have a long past working relationship with JTB, now is the time to formalise this commercial alliance and offer a ‘new Japan’ value proposition to our clients.”
Through the partnership, Pacific World will work with JTB to provide meeting and event services in Japan. This will enable Pacific World to showcase Japan as a MICE destination to its global network of corporate and agency meeting planners.
“Pacific World is one of the most reputable DMCs in the MICE industry. We are confident that with this strategic alliance we are able to cover the Asian region and both our companies will be able to strongly promote our destinations along with the rapidly growing Asian market,” commented Haruhiko Sakano, JTB’s director of Sales & marketing.
Through its network of strategic alliances, Pacific World now covers two of the largest MICE markets: Japan and the US.
