Leeu Collection has announced the reopening of Linthwaite House, following a year-long renovation costing more than £10 million. Leeu Collection is a brand known for its signature elegant and sophisticated style. It boasts of incorporating fine wine with properties in South African vineyards, an impressive collection of artwork, and it prides itself on being masters of the ‘fine art of leisure’.

It’s hard to top off an already luxury accommodation in a prime location, but it has, by investing more than £10 million for an ultra-posh facelift. The Linthwaite House is a country boutique hotel with a modern vibe. And for its new design, the group tapped Beverley Boswell, a renowned designer who was also responsible for the brand’s South African sister properties.

Boswell and her team worked with the best British furniture makers and fabric designers to create modern interiors with a country house feel. The interior highlights include leather sofas from Soane Britain, oak console tables from William Yeoward, chandeliers from Porta Romana, and bed throws from Johnstons of Elgin.

All of the hotel’s 30 guestrooms have been re-touched down to the last detail. In addition, Boswell and her team built six new Woodland Suites (two inter-connecting) that will open in Autumn 2018. The new suites will provide a wide space for guests, with each room averaging 66 sqm. The suites will feature floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of Windermere and the Lake District landscape.

The Linthwaite House, located in England’s Lake District, now offers a total of 36 rooms overlooking Lake Windermere.

Given the new Woodland Suites and the extension of the existing building, there have been significant changes to the hotel’s 14 acres of grounds. Now, to make the renovations complete in all aspects, the grounds have also been re-worked by landscape artist Franchesca Watson. Peppered with sculptures, the garden features a standalone bar that overlooks the croquet lawn and garden chess set, as well as flower beds, with views of Windermere and the trees in the distance.

In the new restaurant, Stella, guests will be able to sample fine cuisine in the Lake District, based on locally sourced and organic produce. It’s led by international celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia and her passion for Italian cooking.

Another noteworthy addition is the Bar & Conservatory, which has been opened up and extended so that guests can better enjoy the natural views outside. It serves an all-day dining menu, a selection of afternoon teas and hand-crafted cocktails in the evenings.

Linthwaite House re-opened on 1 June 2018 and rates will start from £285 for two people sharing a double room. A ‘Welcome Back’ rate of £200, representing a 30% discount, is currently available until 31 July 2018.
