Louvre Hotels Group has announced plans for an aggressive expansion in Indonesia.
The European hotelier is planning to open up to 30 new hotels in the country over next three years under its upscale Golden Tulip and budget Première Classe brands.
Louvre entered Indonesia in late 2012 with the launch of the 138-room Golden Tulip Galaxy Banjarmasin, and intends to add a further six hotels this year alone, boosting its nationwide inventory by 1,286 rooms. The hotel group’s CEO, Pierre-Frederic Roulot, flew to Jakarta this week to make the announcement.
“We are delighted to be revealing our plans today for Golden Tulip and Première Classe brands in Indonesia. The strong economy and solid long-term outlook will fuel greater business opportunities and travel in the country will become greater,” said Roulot.
“The increase of access through fast developing airline infrastructure means the movement of people for business and leisure has never been greater and in this we see a great opportunity to establish partnerships to manage high quality hotels throughout the country.”
The company’s expansion plans include three Golden Tulip hotels in Bali, located in Seminyak, Denpasar and Kuta, plus one further Golden Tulip in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, and two properties in the city of Bandung, West Java. These include Louvre’s five-star Royal Tulip brand.
There are also 10 Première Classe hotels in the pipeline, including a property in Bandung that will become one of the brand’s biggest hotels when it opens in 2016.
Louvre Hotel Group currently operates more than 1,100 hotels in 43 countries.
