Lufthansa has started offering a new family check-in counter at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Launched last month, the new counter allows children to watch the check-in procedure. Once completed, kids will receive their own boarding pass, plus a special ‘Best Friend’ boarding pass for their teddy or cuddly toy.

“Even prior to take off our young passengers should have a memorable experience with Lufthansa. We are therefore delighted that we are now also able to offer this new family-friendly service at Bangkok,” said Dirk Grossmann, Lufthansa’s general manager for Thailand and the Mekong Region.

Lufthansa says the family check-in counter “can hardly be missed”. It will have distinct signage and a runway-like carpet that leads towards an arch, where kids will be welcomed by Lufthansa’s cartoon mascots Lu and Cosmo.

Bangkok becomes the first Lufthansa hub in Asia Pacific to offer the family check-in counters.
