Lufthansa has started rolling its new ‘Restaurant Service’ F&B concept for business class passengers on long-haul flights.
Effective this month, premium passengers on Lufthansa’s Airbus A380s aircraft will be offered a new a la carte dining concept, with ceramic crockery and meals served straight from the galley, rather than from a trolley.
The flight attendants will “adapt their service… towards the rhythm of their passengers in order to individually respond to their guests’ needs and requests just like a top-class restaurant,” Lufthansa said in a statement.
Approximately 4,500 Lufthansa flight attendants have undergone special service training courses ahead of the launch.
The service was first introduced on A380 flights to New York and Miami and will now be rolled out on other A380 routes, including Houston, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Delhi, Beijing, San Francisco, Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore.
Then in October 2015, Restaurant Service will be expanded to Lufthansa’s fleet of B747s and A340s.
