Lufthansa’s new business class takes off
Lufthansa has operated the first scheduled flight equipped with its new business class cabin.
The airline’s brand new Airbus A330-300 took off yesterday (22 May) on a flight from Munich to New York, featuring the premium cabin that was unveiled earlier this year at ITB Berlin.
The business class cabin features 48 new air-cushioned seats that fold out to form fully-flat, 1.98-metre-long beds. The seats also offer more space at shoulder level when lying down due to lowerable armrests, as well as additional storage compartments. Seats also feature 15-inch TV monitors (compared to the previous 10.4-inch screens), while passengers in all classes can access the FlyNet broadband internet service.
The aircraft is also fitted with the German carrier’s first class cabin, which is currently installed on the upper deck of Lufthansa’s A380s. The economy class cabin meanwhile, features 161 ‘Eco Seats’ equipped with seatback monitors.
