Grand UK Holidays has seen a boost in luxury sales following the launch of its ‘Grand UK Gold’ programme.
The coach operator said almost 90% of the programme has been sold since its launch six months ago, which includes high-end transport and accommodation with included extras.
Harold Burke, sales director of Grand UK said the Jubilee and Olympics had also encouraged bookings.
“We’ve seen a boost to bookings in recent years thanks to the ‘staycation’ trend – and this year is seeing an even greater emphasis on domestic holidays, with major events such as the Diamond Jubilee and Olympic Games,” he explained. “As the country counts down to the start of the Olympics, the focus on holidays in the UK is certainly helping our sales”.
To meet demand, the operator is to add tours in its 2012/13 brochure, which will be released next month, with some already on sale.
