Shearings has seen sales of its luxury holidays increase 32% year-on-year and is expecting a ‘strong year’ for UK holidays.
The tour operator said the experience offering in its luxury Grand Tourer programme had led to the increase in sales, with three new itineraries added for 2014: ‘Royal Bath House & Gardens’, ‘Scottish Grandeur’ and ‘Enigma Code & The Blitz’.
Sales of its core summer offering is up 7%, with the company expecting a good year overall
“Our customers are increasingly looking for new experiences, which is why our Grand Tourer programme and “As Seen on Screen” themed holidays are growing in popularity. Our multichannel peaks campaign focused on encouraging holidaymakers to ‘Keep Making Memories’, and our strong sales show that many are choosing to do so here in the UK,” said Shearings’ commercial director Caroline Brown. “With experts predicting the hottest summer on record for 2014, the trend of holidaying at home shows no signs of slowing down.”
