Kiroro Resort releases a series of training and fitness videos to get you in shape for the winter ski season

TD General Manager & Managing Editor

To help guests get ready for the upcoming ski season, Jyunpei Momose, Lead Instructor for the Kiroro Ski & Snowboard Academy presents this series of seven videos to help aspiring skiers and boarders to make the most of their off-season and get into shape for the upcoming season.

Available on Kiroro’s YouTube channel, the short videos give excellent tips on stretching, strengthening and recovery, as demonstrated by Momose. “We can make the most of our summers to get ready for the winter season,” says Momose. “Many people weren’t able to ski at all last year, so we are sharing these tips to help everyone feel comfortable and strong when they head back to the mountains.”

The videos include:

  1. Maintaining fitness over the summer
  2. Improving balance and core strength on a Segway
  3. Practicing balance while at home
  4. Keeping your gear tuned up; featuring Mr. Ichihashi, professional ski technician
  5. Dressing appropriately for skiing at Kiroro
  6. Stretching and strengthening the hips
  7. Ski training on the mountain

A stunning alpine resort nestled in the Yoichi mountains, Kiroro is an all-season resort offering luxury accommodations, dining and shopping, a variety of outdoor recreational activities and world-class relaxation services. Each winter, Kiroro regularly sees over 20 meters of snow, the most in Japan and more than most ski areas around the world. The resort offers something for everyone with 22 perfectly groomed ski runs, hundreds of acres of tree skiing, a terrain park and dozens of alpine activities from snowshoe tours through the winter forest to onsen in a natural caldera spring.

After a year of staying near home, people are ready to travel again safely. For skiers and outdoor enthusiasts, Kiroro offers the perfect winter destination with plenty of open space, outdoor activities and extra special attention to hygiene and health protocols. The resort offers stay-and-ski packages for guests and one of the longest ski seasons in the world stretching from November through to May.
