Malaysia Airlines has unveiled plans for two new routes linking the islands of Borneo and Penang.
Catering for expected festive demand, the national carrier will commence new services from Kota Kinabalu and Kuching to Penang on 18 November 2016. Flights will continue over the December festive season, before resuming in time for Chinese New Year.
Both routes will operate four times a week, with Kuching-Penang services running on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and Kota Kinabalu-Penang flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“We are super excited to be announcing our new route which connects Penang with Kota Kinabalu and Kuching and we do hope our guests take advantage of this great deal. We believe this will open up greater domestic tourism for Sabah, Sarawak and Penang,” said Malaysia Airlines’ CEO, Peter Bellew.
Malaysia Airlines already links Kuala Lumpur with Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, as well as flying direct between Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
