TAP Portugal is to operate daily flights between Manchester and Lisbon this autumn, it has announced.
The carrier will start the daily service on 28 October with connections onto Luanda, Dakar, Bissau and Sal Island as well as long-haul destinations in the Americas.
“Having successfully launched our new service last summer, we are very happy with the results to date,” said José Moreira, UK sales manager at TAP. “We will have a daily flight this winter and intend to add further frequencies next summer to reflect the increased demand we are experiencing not only to Portugal but beyond to Brazil and Africa”.
Meanwhile, Manchester’s connection to Gothenburg is to continue thanks to British Airways franchise partner Sun Air. The Danish airline will operate the service from 27 August 11 times a weekwith departures timed to offer travel back and forth on the same day.
“As a direct consequence of demand from both British and Swedish business people for a direct connection between Manchester and Sweden’s second largest city Gothenburg, we have decided to take over this route,” said Kristian Tvergaard, commercial director at Sun Air.
