The Autograph Collection, Marriott’s new brand for independent hotels, has launched in Asia.
The Stones Hotel Legian in Bali becomes the 36th hotel to be added to the collection’s global portfolio, which currently covers the United States, Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and now Asia. This is expected to expand to 40 hotels by year-end, meaning that an average of one property per month will have been added to the collection since its inception in 2010.
“We are thrilled to introduce Autograph Collection to Asia,” said Simon Cooper, Marriott’s president and managing director of Asia Pacific. “Bali represents the ideal location to launch this dynamic new concept for Marriott International, developed for travellers who seek an extraordinary independent hotel experience. We are confident our guests will respond positively to Autograph Collection as yet another offering within the Marriott International portfolio in the region.”
According to Marriott Autograph Collection hotels should possess a “distinct identity” and offer a “creative experience”. The 330-room Stones hotel, which is brand new, is based around a 3,000m² pool surrounded by private cabanas. Facilities include three restaurants, including a poolside option, plus a spa with five treatment rooms.
“The Stones will offer premier accommodations, amenities and services, as well as exclusive, tailored experiences,” said Tina Edmundson, Marriott’s senior vice president of lifestyle brands. “Welcoming this hotel to Autograph Collection provides us with the opportunity to continually present outstanding travel options to people all around the world. It’s exciting for us to make our Asia debut in such a remarkable area of the region.”
