Marriott has formed a new loyalty programme partnership with Chinese travel provider, Ctrip.com.
The new scheme will see Marriott Rewards members earn Ctrip points when they stay at any Marriott property worldwide. The partnership is the first of its kind between a global hotel loyalty programme and Ctrip.
“This industry-first partnership brings together the leading hotel loyalty programme and the leading travel agency in China to provide the best possible customer service and guest experience to Marriott Rewards members and Ctrip users in China,” said Simon Cooper, President & Managing Director of Marriott in Asia Pacific. “It reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of Chinese guests and partnering with exceptional Chinese companies such as Ctrip.”
“Ctrip has always been devoted to creating more value for its customers. The partnership between Ctrip and Marriott is an outstanding example of cooperation between an online travel company and the hotel industry. It’s mutually beneficial for Marriott, Ctrip and our customers. As a result of this expanded partnership, Ctrip customers and Marriott Rewards members can enjoy even more rewards and benefits,” said Fan Min, CEO of Ctrip.
Ctrip members who also join Marriott Rewards and designate Ctrip as their earning preference will receive 20 Ctrip points per US$1 spent at hotel brands such as JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance and Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Ten Ctrip points per US$1 spent will be awarded for stays at Courtyard by Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments.
Ctrip’s hotel reservation network currently includes more than 50,000 hotels in 138 countries.
