Marriott International has launched a new beach resort in the Hua Hin, Thailand.
The new Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa is set on a 3.5-hectare plot of beachfront land and features 322 rooms and suites, many of which offer sea views. Facilities include a lagoon-style swimming pool that “loops around the resort”, plus an adults-only pool and extensive children’s activities including a water slide and tree house.
There are also five food and beverage outlets, a spa, 24-hour fitness centre and several meeting spaces, including a 300m² ballroom.
“Hua Hin is a famous vacation getaway for both local and international travellers,” said Karl Hudson, Marriott’s area vice president for Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia & Japan. “Demand from inbound travel from Thai residents has been strong and we see the number of foreign visitors increasing, at 5.63% year over year.
“Hua Hin has a lot of potential as it offers various activities and attractions, and it is merely 200km from Bangkok. The introduction of Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa will increase the city’s accommodation to 2,341 rooms,” he added.
Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa becomes the first of seven new Thai Marriotts to be launched under a partnership with local real estate company TCC Land, which was signed in 2013. Other hotels opening this year include the Bangkok Marriott Queen’s Park Sukhumvit and Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa.
