Marriott has reveals plans for a major expansion of its Autograph Collection in Asia, with the signing of four new properties in three countries.
The soft brand, which is a collection of independently-branded upscale hotels, already features four properties in Asia Pacific, located in Bali, Tokyo, Seoul and Sydney. But this regional portfolio will be doubled to eight hotels in 2017 with the addition of The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, The Majestic Hotel and Hotel Stripes in Kuala Lumpur, and the RYSE hotel in Seoul.
“We are thrilled to have this vital opportunity to continue growing Autograph Collection’s brand presence in Asia,” said Mike Fulkerson, Marriott’s vice president of brand marketing for Asia Pacific.
“The exponential amount of growth in the region over the last few years, particularly in China, offers rich development opportunities for the brand, and we believe these four properties will open even more doors for the collection.”
The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya is located at Da Dong Hai Bay on China’s Hainan Island, while The Majestic Hotel is an art deco-style property in KL that dates back to the 1930s. Also in KL, Hotel Stripes is a contemporary located in the city’s Jalan Kamunting area, while the RYSE hotel in located in Seoul’s trendy Hongdae district.
These hotels will join the Autograph Collection’s four existing Asia Pacific hotels: The Stones Hotel in Bali, The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, The Plaza Seoul and Pier One Sydney Harbour.
