Marriott International will enter Cambodia for the first time with the signing of two new hotels in the country.

The world’s largest hotel group has penned a deal with the Grand Lion Group for a Courtyard by Marriott resort in Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat, and a Marriott resort in the beach resort of Sihanoukville.

The 233-room Courtyard by Marriott Siem Reap Resort is scheduled to open in April 2017, 15 minutes’ drive from the UNESCO-listed temple complex.

The midscale hotel will feature a restaurant, lobby lounge, a rooftop bar with views of Angkor Wat, an outdoor swimming pool, spa, fitness centre and ballroom. It will also feature Marriott’s new ‘Treehouse’ kids’ club concept.

Then in the fourth quarter of 2017, construction work will commence on a new 250-room upscale Marriott-branded resort in Sihanoukville, adjacent to a new residence and shopping mall. This property is scheduled to open in 2020.
