Marriott International has opened a new hotel in Bali which becomes the world’s first new-build Tribute Portfolio hotel.
Sthala, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, has made its debut in the Ubud area of Bali, marking only the brand’s fourth property in Asia Pacific and the second in Indonesia. Starwood initially launched the Tribute Portfolio in 2015 as a soft brand for independent upscale hotels.
Set on a hilltop in Ubud with views of the Wos River valley, Sthala features 143 rooms and suites, a rooftop bar, restaurant, two swimming pools, a fitness centre and yoga deck. There is also nearly 400m² of function space.
The Tribute Portfolio also features The Hermitage Hotel in Jakarta, along with properties in Japan and Singapore.
