MAS adds second A380
Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) second Airbus 380 has arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The new double-decker aircraft touched down in Malaysia on Saturday afternoon following a flight from the Airbus factory in France, and has been put into immediate service on the KL-London route. The national carrier will now operate daily A380 flights to London’s Heathrow airport.
MAS’ Group CEO, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the airline would adopt the A380 on its “kangaroo route between London and Sydney” when its third A380 begins daily operations on the Sydney-KL route in November this year.
The airline’s daily A380 flight to London departs KLIA daily at 2340 and arrives at Heathrow at 0550 the next day. The return flight departs London at 1200 and arrives back into KLIA at 0725 the next day.
The MAS A380 is fitted with 494 seats in a three-class configuration, with eight in first class, 66 in business class and 420 in economy.
