Mega Maldives will launch direct flights to India this month, and is considering entering into new partnerships with Indian carriers.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) reports that with direct services between Male and Delhi, the respective capitals of the Maldives and India, due to get underway on 14 November 2016, Mega Maldives is in talks with Indian carriers to expand its reach across the country.
“There is more than one good candidate for us to partner with. We are going to look at that further in the coming months,” Mega Maldives’ founder & CEO, George Weinmann told PTI.
Following the launch of flights to Delhi, the low-cost carrier plans to commence services to Mumbai on 8 December. This focus on its populous neighbour follows a recent drop in business on Mega Maldives’ Chinese routes.
