Melia Hotels International has signed a contract to manage a new resort on Phu Quoc Island, in southern Vietnam.
Opening in 2016, the new Sol House Phu Quoc resort will have a beachfront location overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Billed as a four-star resort, the property will have 260 rooms and bungalows, a spa, two dining outlets, a beach bar, swimming pool and a beach sports centre.
“Melia Hotels International has led the resort hotel segment in most of the Mediterranean and Caribbean destinations, and we have well positioned to expand in Asia Pacific’s vacation spots,” said Bernado Cabot, Melia’s vice president of Asia Pacific.
“Together [with developer MIK Corporation], we will bring out the best of Sol House Phu Quoc, making it a fantastic destination for wonderful holiday and getaway.”
Sol House Phu Quoc will become Melia’s third property in Vietnam, following the Melia Danang and Melia Hanoi.
The company is also planning two more Sol House projects in Indonesia.
