Fresh faced MICE dedicated trade show Get Global, enters its second year with the wind in its sails after winning ‘Exhibition of the Year at the Meetings & Events Australia 2017 NSW Industry Awards in Sydney’ this month.
High praise, indeed, for an inaugural event, which only adds to the success of the Get Global event that has seen ticket sales rocket for 2018 and fills the organisers with pride and positivity for the upcoming show.
As Get Global director and founder, Gary Bender, says: “We’ve already had double the registrations compared to this time last year. Industry confidence is growing and the MICE market is using to Get Global to deliver real, tangible business results from the exhibition floor.”
Thoughts echoed by Donna Kessler, co-founder of the Australian based organisation: “We were really honoured to be presented with the Exhibition of the Year award and would like to thank Meetings & Events Australia for recognising Get Global and the position it now holds amongst MICE professionals and international vendors.”
Compared with other similar events, Get Global differs by allowing buyers to work their way through its ‘designated geographical zones’ to meet exhibitors at their own speed, instead of working to a strict programme.
A tour bus is a petri dish of human behaviour, and is the best way to get to know exactly how to work with all different types of people – Mark Carter, Get Global speaker
This year, the event will feature ‘Inspiration Corner’, located right on the exhibition floor, where attendees will be able to learn from remarkable speakers with global business and travel experience in partnership with ICMI Speakers & Entertainers.
One of whom, Mark Carter, through his work with Contiki Holidays and as an industry trainer across Europe, has over 20 years’ experience motivating and engaging audiences, who signed up in mid-April, has become well known for his industry insights, vast experience and charismatic, narrative-driven speech style. Which you can see for yourself in the vid below.
“We’ve all had to wrangle unruly delegates during an event. Mark’s experience of trying to manage thousands of 20-somethings spread in all corners of Europe, will make you grateful for your few hundred corporates on one island!” said Donna Kessler. As Mark says, “a tour bus is a petri dish of human behaviour, and is the best way to get to know exactly how to work with all different types of people.” His stories will make you laugh, gasp but above all, challenge the way you think.
