Minor Hotel Group has launched the first Avani hotel in its home market of Thailand.

The Avani Atrium Bangkok opens following a rebranding of the former Amari hotel in the centre of Bangkok, offering what Minor calls “contemporary style and an upbeat vibe”.

The 23-storey hotel has 568 rooms and suites, all with 40-inch LCD TVs, DVD players and office amenities. There are also executive floors which allow access to the hotel’s executive lounge.

The hotel’s focal point is the 12-storey atrium lobby, which now includes a ‘Connect Zone’ where guests can access the internet, and ‘Pantry’ ‘which serves drinks, snacks and light meals.

Other facilities at the new Avani include an all-day dining restaurant, swimming pool, children’s pool, gym, steam room, sauna and beauty salon. The Japanese teppanyaki restaurant, Benihana, will open in early 2015.

For the corporate market, the hotel offers seven meeting rooms that cater for between 10 and 400 people.

Avani Atrium Bangkok becomes Minor’s eighth Avani hotel, following existing properties in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mozambique and the Seychelles. And a second Avani is currently under construction in Bangkok, next to the Chao Praya River.
