Monarch Travel Group’s CEO Andrew Swaffield has been elected on the ABTA board of directors.
Swaffield represents principals with a turnover of more than £50 million and replaces Hugh Morgan.
Noel Josephides, ABTA chairman said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the ABTA board of directors where his wealth of experience will prove invaluable to the association and our members. Andrew is joining the ABTA Board at a significant time as the industry moves forward towards a new regulatory environment both domestically and in Europe, and as travel businesses become increasingly diverse and international.”
Swaffield started his travel career at Thomas Cook as a consultant in 1984 and has held senior positions at British Airways, British Airways Holidays and Avios. He became managing director of Monarch airlines earlier this year and became group CEO in July.
