Emirates has announced its plans to increase baggage allowance on certain routes.
For travel on or before 31 July, the airline is granting an extra 10kg to Bangladesh and India and an additional 20kg to Pakistan as part of a special ‘Take More This Summer’ promotion.
“Despite our baggage allowances being generous in the airline industry, people still want more, particularly on certain routes and at certain times of the year,” said Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ senior vice president, Commercial Operations (Gulf, Middle East & Iran). “With our special summer campaign, hopefully, we can remove some of that packing and airport stress.”
Silver, Gold and Platinum Emirates Skywards Members also have the opportunity to carry an extra 12kg, Gold Members an extra 16kg and Platinum Members an additional 20kg. In addition to this, passengers can purchase excess baggage online through a pre-paid option. This will avail them a further 30 per cent saving.
