The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) have joined hands to promote India as a preferred tourism destination in key international source markets. The ministries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to leverage promotional opportunities provided by airports and airlines to boost the “Incredible India” brand.
As per the MoU, the Airport Authority of India will provide marketing space at various airports for Incredible India branding at nominal cost, while in the case of new private airports, a clause will be inserted in the agreement for this purpose. The MoCA will issue instructions to foreign and domestic carriers for screening Incredible India promotional films on their inbound and outbound flights, while domestic carriers will feature the Incredible India logo on all their aircraft.
The agreement will also see both the ministries participating in road shows and events organised by each other. The MoT will also promote the newly upgraded airports such as a Aurangabad, Udaipur, Varanasi and Madurai, while the MoCA will extended the “Campaign Clean India” to ensure cleanliness in and around all airports in the country.
