Moxy Hotels heads to Tromso

Marriott International’s next-gen traveling brand, Moxy Hotels, is opening a new hotel in Tromsø, the go-to city in Norway to experience the northern lights. The new hotel and its 200 rooms are expected to open in 2021.

Tromsø is a true lifestyle destination for adventurer looking for spectacular experiences in nature. “We are eager to open a unique hotel brand in Norway that differs from the market’s saturation of local brands. The natural beauty of Tromsø is evident, so we have decided to design the reception and common areas on the top floor. This allows all our guests to enjoy the wonderful view from the 11th floor while they have a meal and cocktails from the bar,” Per Denker Sørensen, CEO of the hotel operator Core Hospitality said.

This project will be the third Moxy hotel to open in Norway and the northernmost Marriott property. Marriott already has one hotel established in Norway, Moxy Oslo X, and another one is being developed in Bergen. The latter will also be operated by Core Hospitality.
