The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has chalked out a US$49.96 million (INR317.50 crore) plan to boost tourism in Nashik.
Out of the total funds, INR126 crore has been sanctioned for various tourism projects in the Nashik district, INR46 crore for Dhule, INR36 crore for Jalgaon, INR57 crore for Ahmednagar and INR52 crore for Nandurbar districts.
“We recently received an official copy of the letter approving the proposal and sanction of the funds. The aim of the project is to tap the tourism potential of the scenic locations and promote these for the forthcoming Kumbh and also for regular tourism,” Pradnya-Bade-Misal, Regional Manager of MTDC was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
