Hotels in Mumbai experienced strong performance improvements in August 2015.

According to the latest data from STR Global, the city experienced double-digit growth in terms of hotel occupancy (+11.8% to 72.7%) and revenue per available room (+10.4% to INR4,865, approx. US$73) last month.

Mumbai’s average daily rate (ADR) however, dropped 1.2% to INR6,688.

The positive August result means that the city’s occupancy and revPAR have now experienced year-on-year growth in all the first eight months of 2015. And the 72.7% occupancy level was a new record for August.

Hotels in Mumbai were boosted last month by the shift in the timing of the International Jewellery Show, which was moved from July in 2014 to August of 2015.
