Mumbai’s Juhu aerodrome to be extended

The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has decided to extend the existing runway at Mumbai’s Juhu aerodrome into the Arabian Sea – on stills. The ministry plans to shift all small aircraft operations from Mumbai airport to Juhu aerodrome.
The increasing flight congestion at Mumbai airport is a concern for us, and we have decided to develop the Juhu airport so that it can take some load off the international airport,” Ajit Singh, Minister for Civil Aviation in India was quoted as saying by the Mid Day.
MoCA has set up a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra to pursue this matter further.
