The AWTE and Global Media and Entertainment kicked off their collaboration to bring “Global Women” to the AWTE membership at the Mayfair hotel earlier this week, with An Audience with Myleene Klass.
Myleene is a businesswoman, classical musician, TV presenter, author and fashion designer as well as a mum and during the evening she shared her story of a colourful and diverse career to date with AWTE members and guests.
Talking about the change from classical music to pop, modelling to setting up her own business, a range of children’s clothing “Baby K” that has gone global, Myleene was open, candid and fun.
There were plenty of laughs and the audience were inspired by her honesty and passion for all that she gets involved with – as well as her love for travel. Myleene also answered questions posted on twitter by guests as well as questions from the audience on the night about her life, career and aspirations.
Myleene said having her family and being a single mum drives her to do even more, she chooses her teams and the people she works with carefully, believes in being feisty, but remaining true to being herself – a driven and determined woman in business.
Nicola Bradley from Global Media and Entertainment said: “We are truly delighted to collaborate with the AWTE and our amazing pool of talent is excited to get involved. The events arranged until the end of the year will give the travel industry the opportunity to hear from successful women who have had a varied career path. Having been members of the Association for several years, we enjoy the support that the members show to each other.”
All guests enjoyed the Hospitality of the sponsor of the evening, the Mayfair Hotel with wine and canapés whilst networking after listening to Myleene.
AWTE’s next event with the Global Women will be on the 7th of September when Kate Garraway will present the Chair’s Awards; details of how to nominate will be released next week.
Also later in the year, Petrie Hoskins of LBC will facilitate the big interview.
AWTE have also announced their Simply Networking event at the Devonshire Terrace on 3rd August, which is free to members and a guest, and £10 per guest thereafter.
