BELHASSEN FTOUHI has been appointed operations manager for the Troon-managed Golf Club at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. He brings a wealth of experience to his role, which will see him play a big part in managing the Troon Golf-managed facility, reporting directly to Paul Booth, director of club operations. Belhassen will oversee daily operations and maintenance of the golf club, membership and customer services, cost management, marketing, recruitment, development and training.
Jumeirah Group has appointed DAVID STEPETIC as general manager of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi, taking over from CHRIS ELY who returned to Dubai in the role of hotel manager at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. David joins Jumeirah from Laucala Island Resort in Fiji where he has been general manager for the past two years. He brings with him over 26 years of hospitality experience. Chris joined Jumeirah in 2005 working in sports and leisure for a number of our hotels and resorts in Dubai.
GEORGES FARHAT has been promoted to general manager at Crowne Plaza Dubai. He brings with him over 25 years of industry experience. In his previous role, Farhat was the acting general manager. He has held various leadership roles in front office and sales before moving on to EAM, resident manager, hotel manager and acting general manager.
DIDIER QUENNOUELLE has been appointed chef de cuisine at Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. With the flair of a true artist, chef Didier combines authentic French flavours with a unique savoir faire.
HUDA MALHAS has been appointed director of marketing communications for EMEA at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. She moves from Lebanon to a new corporate role in Dubai, heading the EMEA marketing communications team. Huda has played a central role in various special projects including pre-opening of the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St Petersburg. She also assisted in development of marketing communications strategy for upcoming projects in Moscow and Johannesburg.
ROBERT ‘DOUGIE’ DOUGLAS has been appointed general manager for Armenia at Etihad Airways. In his new role, Douglas will lead the airline’s Armenian sales and marketing operations from its new Yerevan office. His aviation career spans more than 30 years and prior to joining Etihad Airways in 2005, he worked in more than 10 countries with British Airways and partner airlines.
ANGELA CHRISTODOULOPOULOU has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach Residence and Ramada Sharjah. In her role, Christodoulopoulou will lead the sales and marketing team in developing strategies directed towards achieving set sales targets and maximising revenue for both properties. She will also strengthen existing ties with hotels’ key partners and generate leads for new business deals.
