has been appointed general manager for Jumeirah Emirates Towers. He has taken on the new role from Grant Ruddiman, who left the company at the end of January 2015. Wiedenhaupt joins Jumeirah from Four Seasons, where he was most recently general manager of The Four Seasons Resort Nevis in West Indies. He brings with him more than 24 years of luxury hotel management experience in resorts and hotels.
IMAD SAADE has been appointed resident food consultant of Iris Dubai and Iris Yas Island. He will be driving the culinary reinvention and development of Iris Dubai and Iris Yas Island. Chef Imad will also be spearheading addition of the new food concepts – Raw Bar, at Iris Dubai.
NICK PILBEAM has been appointed divisional director – travel for Reed Exhibitions. He will head up the travel division of Reed Exhibitions. Pilbeam has spent majority of his career at British Airways. He replaces Richard Mortimore, who was promoted to chief executive of Reed Exhibitions UK. Pilbeam will report to Mortimore.
JORDI PORCEL CORTES has been appointed general manager for Spain at Etihad Airways. Jordi Porcel will be based in Etihad Airways’ new Madrid office, where he will lead the airline’s Spanish commercial operations. He previously has worked for Vueling Airlines, where he served as chief sales officer.
FATIMA AL KHAROUSI has been appointed airport manager in Japan for Etihad Airways. She will be the first Emirati female airport manager appointed. Based in Nagoya, Al Kharousi will be responsible for overseeing the airline’s operations at Chubu Centrair International Airport and operation of its daily service between Abu Dhabi and Nagoya.
CHRISTOPHE GAVOIS has been appointed executive chef for Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi. He brings with him more than 20 years’ of global experience, having worked in the hotel industry in London, Palm Beach, Dublin, Cairo, Hampshire, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
FRANK EIKELAND has been appointed general manager of the Radisson Blu Resort in Fujairah. Eikeland has worked with the Rezidor Hotel Group’s Middle East team since 2010 and has a track record of lifting a hotel’s performance. He joins the Rezidor’s UAE team from his previous position as general manager of Radisson Blu Resort El Quseir in Egypt.
ABDULMOEEN NASSER has been appointed human resources and government relations manager for Park Inn by Radisson in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Nasser has many years experience in human resources and hospitality industry. He will be responsible for all aspects of human resources and government relations for the 148 room hotels.
