New bonanza! Sri Lankan Airlines offers ‘buy one get one free’ for Indian travellers
Sri Lanka is reopening for Indian travellers who are fully vaccinated, and there is a tempting offer up for grabs. According to reports, Sri Lankan Airlines has introduced a buy one get one free offer for Indian leisure travellers on their Colombo return tickets. The offer will be up until 31 October 2021.
Indian travellers who are fully vaccinated can now easily travel to Sri Lanka without any quarantine. But first, you will be tested upon arrival.
According to the latest revived rules, a traveller needs to be fully vaccinated, with the second shot taken at least 14 days before the trip to Sri Lanka. The person will have to get an RT-PCR test done in the hotel.
In the event the result comes back positive, such a person will be taken to the health care centres that are run from hotels.
Dimuthu Tennakoon, head of worldwide sales and distribution in Sri Lankan Airlines said: “Sri Lanka is now open for Indian tourists. People need to be fully vaccinated, with the second shot taken at least 14 days before the trip. On arrival, travellers will go to their hotel where RT-PCR test will be conducted. Those who test negative can travel where they want to go.”
Travellers who test negative for COVID will not have to quarantine, but essential covid guidelines such as social distancing, and hand sanitisation must be followed at all times.
While this is good enough news, an even better news for travellers from India is that Sri Lanka is accepting all vaccines that are available in India, which includes Covaxin.
1 September will see the return of flight services between Colombo and Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Trivandrum, and Cochin, once a week. Moreover, Colombo will be connected with New Delhi and Hyderabad twice weekly. Moreover, flights from Chennai and Mumbai will be increased to five per week, and the Bengaluru-Colombo services will see three flights per week.
