Marriott International has expanded its Courtyard brand in South Korea, with the launch of a new property at the Pangyo Techno Valley IT hub near Seoul.
The brand new 282-room Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Pangyo is located in Gyeonggi province, on the outskirts of the Korean capital, and is expected to serve the rising number of corporate travellers visiting this new technological development zone.
“We are delighted to be opening this Courtyard hotel as the first Marriott-branded property in Korea’s Gyeonggi province and are proud to be the first hotel to be built in this emerging IT business hub,” said Don Cleary, Marriott’s chief operations officer for Asia Pacific.
The 282-room hotel is set in a 19-storey building which also includes shops, restaurants and offices. Rooms range from 26 to 42m² and come equipped with 40-inch ‘smart’ TVs, work desks and high-speed internet access. There is also an executive lounge on the top floor.
Additional facilities at the Courtyard include a lobby, restaurant, bar and meeting rooms, all located on the eighth floor. There is also an outdoor terrace overlooking the Pangyo Techno Valley.
Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Pangyo becomes the seventh Marriott property in South Korea, and only the second Courtyard.
